hello,

i had a conversation with Jordan a few weeks ago where he was recommending Nukem's MW3 server addon. it just so happens that i've used that addon before and am very familiar with it.

the problem is i can't get it to work on this server i'm renting from you.

everything runs fine until i upload the "d3d9.dll" to the root directory which is the only place it can work from. the addon doesn't work when this dll is placed in any of the other directories associated with the server.

the server does not start when the d3d9.dll is in place.
and, the addon will not work unless d3d9.dll is in the root folder.

it's supposed to work and it does work.
i have a MW3 server i'm renting from another company and the d3d9.dll works from the root directory as it should.

problem is i'd much rather give my business to your company. you are light-years better than the other company in so many ways.

it's just this one little issue that's causing a problem: d3d9.dll.

please help

Hi,

Please be sure you are shutting down your server before uploading any new files. Also are you using the latest version of the addon? He just released a new version today that fixes several things.

Lastly you should definitely be attempting to start the server without any plugins at all just to get an idea if the addon works.

Also if you could post your "data.log" file here if it does not start again or crashes.

i always stop the server and wait about 20 seconds before uploading anything.
i tried running it with no plugins first. it wouldn't run.
i uploaded the addon.dll (version 1.307) and the d3d9.dll from today's newest version.
the server won't start.

and, because it won't start the data.log hasn't been generated

It sounds like the server wasn't running with or without this addon. Have you tried multiple restarts with and without the addon? MW3 has a bug that prevents it from detecting the hardware correctly on startup a lot of the time.

It may be that you are missing some of the needed files to actually run the addon on your server machine.

This is a regular rented server and not a VDS correct?

yes, a regular rented MW3 server.

i tried multiple restarts (stopping, waiting then starting) with the d3d9.dll in place and the server still doesn't start.

when i remove the d3d9.dll the server starts immediately and is playable.

are your MW3 servers running on windows or linux?

They are run on Window. What is your server identifier? I wouldn't mind taking a quick peek to see if I see anything abnormal.

Yes as that has the main part of the addon in it.

I am not sure, but I got confused with the "redist" and "dist" folders.

At the moment I am thinking that your machine is missing a library needed to run the dedicated addon, which is why it is not starting up with it.

Usually if you open a request asking for John he can install it to the machine.
