NICE! I've got a good amount of dedicated players and regulars and we are already full again!TimSad wrote:Damn! Crashed again! Now my server wasn't even up for 12 hours. Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
The thing that really kills me is that there is even a thread with this title.
I work for a business software company. If we dared release something that crashed every few hours, causing people to lose data, we would be out of business within a month, or slapped with a class-action lawsuit so fast your head would spin.
Only in PC gaming do customers put up with this kind of nonsense, and do companies like EA/Dice put out product that performs thus while keeping a straight face. They keep a straight face because we will keep forking over our cash like idiots. This is not a gripe against NFO because I know their hands are tied in many ways and are a reseller, but we will also apparently continue to fork over $100+/mo for something that is essentially half-working.

My server just crashed again! It seems to crash every 12 hours now!
Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
Damn you EA, but I will say NFO has been nothing but spectacular in their empathy and understanding and usual world class support, kudos!TimSad wrote:My server just crashed again! It seems to crash every 12 hours now!
Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
So strange! Now my server has been up and full for 40 hours straight! o.O
Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
Well well well, mine's crashed about a half dozen times in the last 24 hrs, twice in the last few hours, come on EA damn you to hell, I'm sick of this stuff!
Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
Ya - ours has been up for over 30 hours now without a crash. Not sure what changed, but things are looking upTimSad wrote:So strange! Now my server has been up and full for 40 hours straight! o.O
Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
Wow! Going on 55 hours full and without crashing now! WTF?...
Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
Both of mine crashed 3 times today. I hate EA.
Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
ATTENTION! - Our server has finally crashed! Haha! It went sooo long without a crash! It was up and full for about 60 hours! Anyone find it strange that for a couple days it couldn't stay up for even 12 hours but now it was up for 60 hours straight at max capacity?
Re: 64 Slot BF3 Servers - the longest yours has run without
As a whole, that is how BF3 servers have been. Some have the problem, some don't, and others are touch and go from day to day. Not sure if it is due to EA, the game itself, or changes they are making on the fly, but hopefully it will all pass soon.

It's mostly the nature of randomness, I'd say. If you roll a die every hour that causes a crash when you get a "1", there will be times when you get several ones, and crashes, in a row, and other times when you go a long time without seeing one.

Exactly! We got very lucky during that streak!Edge100x wrote:It's mostly the nature of randomness, I'd say. My server crashed and then went inexplicably dead, strange.
