Is it possible to have a longer server name than is already allotted? I put in a not so long name but it got truncated.

There isn't a way to adjust the allowed length. I haven't heard specifics on what the exact limit is, but the limit is unavoidable.

Understood, perhaps at a later time who knows. Funny though, the MOTD for instance can be quite long and is the reason why I asked.
