+ Setup

You will need to start by sending us this information in an email to support@nfoservers.com:

The email address you wish to use for the reseller account, such as "support@nforeseller.com". You'll be using this account to log in to your reseller control panel, and it will also appear as the sender of emails to your customers.
Your first and last name.
Your desired initial password.
Your partner code. This can be up to ten letters and numbers, and should have some relationship to your partner name. It will also become the first part of your control panel link. For instance, if you chose "xxx", your control panel would be at "http://xxx.control.nfoservers.com".

You will also need to send us the $25 startup fee through Paypal at the same time, which is non-refundable. You'll never be charged any money for being a reseller after this -- you're set for life.

After we receive and approve your application, we will create your new account, and you will be able to log in to your partner control panel. When you log in, you'll see all your resold accounts as though you were the primary user, and a special "Partner" tab at the bottom that allows you to set some properties of your reseller account, including the markup amount, where control panel and webpage templates reside, and where your order form is.

Our partnership program is flexible and allows you to choose how much customization and transparency your service will provide. You can do very minimal customization and make it fairly obvious that you are a Nuclearfallout reseller, or you can do extensive customization and even make it nearly impossible to tell that you partner with us.

The simplest partner configuration

In the simplest configuration, our website will be used directly for most things. Your customers will see purchase and other links with our domain in the URL, will be directed to our Paypal account to pay, and will see a control panel that looks very similar to our default one.

For this, you only need two files from our package: "order.html" and "order_submit.pl".

Edit "order.html" to include the server types, sizes, locations, etc that you wish to offer (or even leave it as it is).
Upload both files to your webhost, making sure to give them the correct permissions so that the "order_submit.pl" script can run.
Go to the Partner page in your control panel (at http://yourpartnercode.control.nfoservers.com) and update it with your partner name, website link (possibly just to your order form), and order form link. Also consider changing the markup percentage and values of the checkboxes there.
When a potential customer wants to order through you, simply provide them the URL to the order page you uploaded. After they purchase the server, let them know they can login at http://yourpartnercode.control.nfoservers.com.

A better partner configuration

It doesn't take much extra work to make your site used a bit more and our domain a lot less visible. With this setup, your customers will see purchase and other links on your domain and not ours, but will still be directed to our Paypal account to pay and will still see a control panel that looks like ours.

Perform the simpler configuration mentioned above.
Also upload to your webhost everything else we gave you in the website starter package (which contains a basic order page and some support files), edited to your liking.
On the Partner page in your control panel, put the links to everything you just uploaded.

A typical partner configuration

We expect most partners to start with the "better" configuration we mentioned, but customize it even more. They will have a more full-fledged website that links to the "order.html" page, as well as to the control panel page we provided ("controlpanel.html"). "controlpanel.html" is useful because it will put our control panel in an iframe so that your customers will not see our address in the title bar (with non-IE7 browsers). (You could also take this one step further and set up a subdomain to reference our control panel -- ask us how.)

Most partners will also want to change the look of the control panel, and customize the other pages we provide. This is easy to do, through the editing of the various ".css" and ".template" files. Tinker away; any changes should show up when you refresh the control panel window.

A partner who wants customers to pay him directly

When customers receive a Paypal link for their server through your order page, that Paypal link is configured to send money directly to us, and our name shows up rather prominently on the page. If you don't want this, you have two options.

One option is to simply check the "Hide payment links" option in your partner control panel. By doing this, you will prevent the renter from receiving the signup link (or any upgrade link). You will still get a copy of the link in your emails, however. You would need for the individual to pay you, and then you would need to sign up for the link on his behalf. You would pay the full price to us and would get the markup sent back to you in the standard fashion.

The other option is to order servers on behalf of your customers, take the full payment from the customer, and pay us only the discounted price. For this to work properly, you would need to completely hide our provided order page from your customers, by keeping it in a hard-to-find or password-protected folder on your website; when a customer requests a server, you would submit the order through that form using your login, and our system would automatically give you the full partner discount. Then, you would have your customers pay you directly (for instance, with Paypal or a money order), and transfer the account to their email from the Access tab for that server in your control panel when their payment goes through.

If you go with the second method, you might also show customers a different order page that only allows prices to show, and doesn't allow order submissions. You could even set up an automated system of your own, if you wanted to, by changing the order form we provide so that it submits to one of your scripts instead and orders the server for you, printing out a generic "We're working on your order" page to your client instead of one with a Paypal link, or maybe even one with a Paypal link you create.

Whatever you do, if customers are paying you instead of us, make sure that you also check the box for "Hide payment links?" on the Partner page. This prevents them from seeing resubscription links and other payment devices in their control panel.
