Last night, all over the Internet..

Starting at around 9:30pm PST Friday, a nasty worm began making its way across the Internet, slowing down traffic everywhere. You can read some more about the attack here, among other places.

This worm infected whole racks of servers at the datacenter in which we host the Verio LA servers; this caused our servers to lag horribly last night, because those other customers used all of the outgoing bandwidth to Verio. As of around 3am Saturday morning, our provider had a filter in place to effectively block the worm-created traffic, and the situation has returned to normal for us.

Our InterNAP Seattle servers were not affected by the widespread attacks due to high bandwidth provisioning at InterNAP and few of other customers' machines being infected.

None of our systems were compromised by the worm.
