Dual Opteron 250's

Post by Edge100x »

We've started testing the dual Opteron 250 platform for servers at our Los Angeles facility. If performance proves that this type of machine is worth the additional cost, it will replace our current preferred platform of dual Opteron 246's.

Of note is that we are the first major game server host to use the dual Opteron 250 platform. At least one other provider "plans" to roll out the 250's "soon," but only we physically have our hands on the hardware and use it now.

Hi there,

Id like to know what kind of servers these are in terms of what brand hardware you use and how fast the hard drives, the ram, the motherboard, and if these servers are brand name entirely or 'whitebox'?

You asked me what brand they are. The servers are Appro brand. Think of it as like Dell, but better.

If you're in the business of buying server hardware, I'm very surprised you haven't heard of Appro. They are a big player.

The website worked for me last night when I posted it and continues to work for me today.
