Minecraft on a VDS machine
I was told that currently NFO does not support minecraft on windows OS would have to change to Linux, Is this something that will be added in the future (windows OS)?
Re: Minecraft on a VDS machine
If it is a VDS you can install whatever you like on the OS you like. Youre in control. At least if it is un-managed.

Yeah I know this, I already have 5 or 6 counter-strike servers running and don't to change over to Linux from a Managed windows OS. Everything is running perfect now, just wanna add a minecraft server and can't.
Re: Minecraft on a VDS machine
I wouldn't expect NFO to allow Minecraft to run on Windows anytime soon. The console wrapper that was developed for Minecraft only works on Linux.
If you have 1.6 or CS:S servers, you can swap to Linux without any performance penalty. CS:GO runs worse on Linux vs. Windows.

You would need to have an unmanaged VDS and install it.
At one time it was also best to run it on a SSD to reduce lagging.
We run it on our VDS with no issues, but with no craftbukkit, that removed a lot of the lag.
