is it true that postal office ppl scan mails for cash?

I don't believe that they scan for cash. I know that they scan via xray for things that might be harmful, but I can't think of a reason they scan for cash.

They scan suspicious envelopes, but not specifically for cash.

if they suspect alot of cash is going through packages or large envelopes, they will start scanning for cash, Postal inspectors will detect laundering happening.
