We are switching to NFO from Hostgator because our site is starting to get a little slow with Hostgator.
We get roughly 95,000 unique visitors a month and have 30,000 registrations a year, with a hundred thousand plus messages, and NFO is supposedly really fast. We have already rented our dedi for over a year so may as well switch.
However, does anyone else here have a really large website they can link? Just to show the speeds,
an example?
Cheers.

What does this have to do with the topic? Both.soja wrote:Are you renting a NFO dedi or shared webhosting?

Speeds may vary if it's on a dedicated or shared.mrchasez wrote:What does this have to do with the topic? Both.soja wrote:Are you renting a NFO dedi or shared webhosting?
openbux.com is hosted here, used to get 200.000 pageviews daily.

I use to host with NFo and their web service has been great. I host with someone else due to cPanel/WHM licensing not offered here, I could have gone and bought it from a third party, but in the end I would have saved little more with a company that offered cPanel/WHM with their plans.

Yeah thats one of my only issues is the lack of web support here, i mean in services offered andIcEWoLF wrote:I use to host with NFo and their web service has been great. expertise. However running a Xenforo forum don't need any special features. As long as we have
quick loading times. However, email redirects and that sort is important which isn't offered.

Don't get me wrong, the support has been good, look all the questions on these forums, all of them have been answered.mrchasez wrote:Yeah thats one of my only issues is the lack of web support here, i mean in services offered andIcEWoLF wrote:I use to host with NFo and their web service has been great. I am just used to cPanel/WHM management that it's hard to get use to something else.
The NFo web based panel is pretty good, it has the most important features needed to get your going.
I like how Backups/Restore options are available for cPanel, it makes it a breeze.
If NFo started someday offering whm/cpanel with their web hosting plans then I may consider coming back, but until then, I am happy where I am atm.
Right now it may not be cost effective since they don't specialize on web hosting here, but game server hosting.

Yeah, i don't ever use the forums. However in the one and a half years i have been here ticket support has been great. John is usually in a pretty good mood even when i ask dumb questionsIcEWoLF wrote:Don't get me wrong, the support has been good, look all the questions on these forums, all of them have been answered.mrchasez wrote:Yeah thats one of my only issues is the lack of web support here, i mean in services offered andIcEWoLF wrote:I use to host with NFo and their web service has been great. However, no one is really expert which is something i asked before. Everyone here is hardware and game experts, they should hire a web specialist. I wish they offered cpanel too but it probably isn't cost effective as their web hosting is so cheap. Yeah, i have been using cpanel (with WHM in the past) for four years, and the switch will be really hard. However as long as the speed is their im fine.

I have UGCC installed on my VPS for my cPannel. its really good, and really cheap. Their support is also awesome, and its constantly updated with new games/features.
