Server Loading Troubles
My server has been timingout on map changes, kicking everyone "load fail"? I've noticed this since last nights update. We can't even play through 2 continuous maps without being kicked off our server. Anyone else seeing this?

Gotta love Google:
What is my custom.hpk file, and what does it do?
This file is a cache of all the custom sprays that everyone has that you've downloaded onto your computer. By having this file, you won't have to download the sprays everytime just to see them. But this file can get pretty large, and it takes time to read all that information. So by deleting this file, your log ons and log offs of servers can be sped up, among other, lesser known effects. You can also have this file deleted automatically when the file gets to a certain size. By adjusting the vaule of 'hpk_maxsize' in either your config.cfg file or in console, you can determine when the program deletes the file. Make the value at the size in megabytes that you want it deleted. For example, typing 'hpk_maxsize 2' in console will change the value so that when your custom.hpk file gets to 2 megabytes, it is automatically deleted and recreated. If the value is 0, it never gets deleted.

Here's a couple of tidbits not listed, of interest to server operators:
* The custom.hpk file is reloaded with every mapchange. When it is large, mapchanges are slow; when it is corrupted, mapchanges may not happen at all.
* The custom.hpk file format may change from version to version of HL and should be deleted if odd problems with your server crop up after a change. (This mainly applies to the most recent update.)
* The custom.hpk file must be deleted while the server is offline or it may be rewritten automatically by the running game.

It's not a server thing it looks like a steam bug....Here's a thread from their support forum.
