I actually really like it because it motivates players to play the objectives and not just sit back and camp.
I agree with you, but it's still an issue. Ideally, we could have a standard Conquest version.
As server operators, we all know that you can only do so much to control the gameplay. Some features added with the best of intentions based on theory, usually wind up emptying a server in practice.
When the other team discovers they have no spawn point, 90% of the players get teed off and go play somewhere else. I've only seen the "EA Disconnect" clear out a server faster.
This wasn't as huge an issue with the previous games, but it's huge now given the Battlelog, Quick Match, Regional related server listings, and the challenge of getting your server populated.
