Just curious, seems like our servers always crash and reboot during the early morning hours (3AM-6AM EST).

All game servers here are restarted if they crash or stop responding. Most game servers are also restarted daily when empty.

If you're using Procon or another 3rd party tool, make sure that it's set up to reconnect to the server if it's restarted.

We have procon hosted by a third party layer. I've just noticed that when I check the servers in the morning, uptimes are usually only 2-3 hours. Wasn't sure if they were rebooted automatically at a certain time.

It sounds as though you're just seeing the daily restart-when-empty operation, then. It starts trying to do this at midnight PST.

More information on how those daily restarts work can be found on the "Description" page of the control panel. Look for a "?" next to the "Restart daily when empty? " option.

Yes, with a BF3 server, it will only perform a daily restart of a server when the server is completely empty. The information on the Description page goes over how the system works in depth.

Also, this can happen right after a Blaze dropout, if it hadn't restarted earlier, so this can sometimes be mistaken as a crash. Blaze disconnects, all your players disconnect, so the system sees an empty server and restarts it.

Any way to disable this through the control panel?

Due to the memory and CPU leaks in the game, we have a policy of leaving the restart-servers-daily-if-they-empty feature in place for regular standalone game servers. If you have a managed VDS or managed dedicated server, you can turn the feature off yourself, but we strongly advise against it. This is not a harmful operation in any way.
