Just looking for an answer to a simple question :D

Is there anyway to raise the server FPS?

I am aware of - /viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5831

However even when viewing the nfoservers.com/order.php page I see

Additional hyperaccel 12-slot private server $14.99
Additional ultraaccel 12-slot private server $39.99

Is that just an oops in the documents that wasn't taken out?
I mean if you select the "Ultra" you still get charged the 39.99$


Either way simple question is there a such thing as "Hyper" or "Ultra" accel?

For Orangebox-based games, the ultraaccelerator means that the server is placed on a Linux machine with our optimized kernel. We have found that servers in this configuration have a slightly more stable FPS rate, but this difference is less noticeable than it was previously. I would advise trying both the standard hyperaccelerator (Windows) and ultraaccelerator (Linux) during your free trial to see if you personally notice a difference that you feel is worth the additional cost. Most customers likely will not see a big enough difference to justify it.

For HL1-based games, the ultraaccelerator means that the server runs on one our our Linux machines at a highly stable 1000fps, thanks to our specially-coded FPS Locker (the maximum supported by the engine; beyond this, it does not behave properly). Hyperaccelerated servers run at 500fps on Windows machines.

So for OB games we are 100% no matter what stuck with the 66.7 fps?

I know When watching my server console I can see the logs saying Server FPS @ 72 and that but no way to increase it?

Valve locks the server FPS to 66. There is at least one plugin that raises it to 100, but with side effects that outweigh potential benefits: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4627.

You can see the current realized server FPS under "sv" in net_graph 4 output, or through "rcon stats".

Sorry to bring up an old topic but I'm wondering if Valve's recent push to Linux has improved anything with their Linux version of SRCDS. I'm contemplating changing my server to Linux specifically for the FPS locker. I don't notice any performance issues now but I do wonder if a more steady FPS would be noticeable when the server is full. My account is paid till September so it's not like it's something I can add and take off a month later. What do you think John?

SRCDS is pretty mature and probably won't go under any drastic changes for performance. If it is anything but a match server, don't worry about it. Tbh I notice the net_graph reports fps at 66.7 on windows more often than on our ultra-accelerated linux machine.

The Linux version may use a little lower CPU now, but it's hard to say. Linux servers still cost us more to run than Windows servers because we can't put many other types of game servers on the same machines; but, our up-charge for the ultraaccelerator has also gone down a little.
