Web Redirect
We got a web space package and use it for our redirect, the download speeds are really slow compared to our last host.
Is there anything we can do to make it faster.
Example our last host I was getting around 1.7meg downloads now I'm getting 300k tops

Re: Web Redirect
Hi,
Can you please provide a link to the file so we can check? Also when you are downloading it via the game is it showing the DL URL of your website?

Re: Web Redirect
Thank you for the link. I've changed the TSO setting on that webserver, which may speed things up. Can you give it a go again?
Re: Web Redirect
After John changed the setting I checked my speed and I hit about 2.5MB/S.

Re: Web Redirect
need of a possible TSO setting change on our webserver?
we are getting slow redirect on http://dfu2.site.nfoservers.com/server also.
everything websynced and ingame is downloading from this url
I get max of 550K
rest of clan 300 to 800K
we watch 80% of new players time out

Re: Web Redirect
Cor-DFU-, no, that setting is set correctly on all of our webservers.
Re: Web Redirect
Mine is also way to slow. Capping at 500k/sec.
Since CS:GO use new models, maps are way bigger. Average of 30mb per map.
My site is http://bye.site.nfoservers.com/
If the cap speed can be raised that would be great.
If not, I'll continue to use dropbox.com since the speed is just amazing (10mb/sec) but limited to 2gb of space.

Re: Web Redirect
We do not throttle speed until the file size hits 200megs, I tested the downloads from the link you posted and I saw speeds of 4 MB/s.
Does everyone see these speeds or just you?

Re: Web Redirect
We do not cap speeds on the webhosting except for very large files, as kraze said. I, also, tested with the largest file on your site from my home connection and received >1.5 MB/s, which is very good for me.
If you're running Windows XP and have a high latency from Seattle, I strongly recommend adjusting your RWIN upwards.
I also strongly recommend compressing your files to their .bz2 versions, as this will significantly decrease the amount of time it takes for users to obtain them. Our system does this for customers automatically when they use the Websync page in our control panel.

Re: Web Redirect
Im downloading this file for example: http://bye.site.nfoservers.com/csgo/map ... kelate.bsp
At home, at work, at my friends house, I stuck at 460k/sec.
I don't have a slow internet connection.
http://www.speedtest.net/result/2165272146.png
So yes, there's a limit somewhere.

Re: Web Redirect
Well don't worry about that, I don't know why i'm locked at this speed with your webhosting but that's not a big deal.
I will continue to use dropbox since it can get up to 5mb/sec.
I just wanted to let you know.
Thanks guys!

Re: Web Redirect
Where exactly are you located?
Slow speed isn't always because of a cap, it could be because of bad latency to Seattle or a routing issue between you and the webserver.
You should try opening a request with a trace route to your website so we can see what we can do to help.
