Another question for screenshots
Since we can't have screenshots as I wanted them, I have a few other questions.
1) Can screenshots be saved to another server then the one the game is saved on?
2) I have a managed and unmanaged server, both in Dallas. Chances are that they are not on the same machine, but could the screenshots be saved to the unmanaged server, where I can enable access myself via IIS?
3) If the above 2 can't be done, is there an easier way to transfer the screenshots from the managed to the unmanaged server, preferably automated? Or is FTP the only possible way?
I know I can manually transfer the screenshots over, where I can then scan them and provide public screenshots, but trying to see if I can make it easy as possible so it doesn't have to be done manually every couple hours.

Perhaps sending a direct support ticket to evenbalance for recommendations pain?

Re: Another question for screenshots
From what I can see it can be done via pb_sv_SsPath "" //[Path where remote screenshots are saved]
Setting it up correctly is the trick.
Testing it out, but no success yet.
No more time tonight. Bed Time.

I don't have a way of doing this..=QUACK=.Major.Pain wrote:1) Can screenshots be saved to another server then the one the game is saved on?
You should be able to set up a script on your managed VDS to regularly download the screen shots through the FTP to a location that is visible through IIS. This is similar to how the websync works with our normal setup. wget would be one place to turn for this, coupled with a Windows scheduled task.2) I have a managed and unmanaged server, both in Dallas. FTP is the only way that I can think of right now.3) If the above 2 can't be done, is there an easier way to transfer the screenshots from the managed to the unmanaged server, preferably automated? Or is FTP the only possible way?

Thanks - I have put a ticket in with evenbalance for help with the above line.
How to properly place url in the quotes.
It would have to be a ftp:// url passing the login and password with it.

ftp://username:password@hostname/
This works, but don't allow public to see url, as they can see your login and password

Ok Im confused... Major.Pain you posted in another forums this here: http://74.201.57.240:90/msgpbssv.html
Is this easy and simple to setup and is anything extra required...? Just asking because it seems your still having some issues with SS's.

Re: Another question for screenshots
I set it up on my unmanaged server and manually downloaded via ftp.
I haven't got the knowledge to automate it so I gave up on it.
But I had it all working fine.
Installed filezilla to download ss.
Create IIS to allow access to the ss folder.
We just recently upgraded to Win 2008, which apparently requires a port now for IIS.

Well ya lost me a bit... so the link with that software/file isn't something that works by default? I thought there was FTP access and you could just slap the needed files in the SS folder and it worked?.=QUACK=.Major.Pain wrote:I set it up on my unmanaged server and manually downloaded via ftp.

Re: Another question for screenshots
HarryNutz, Pain has unique requirements, and he was asking about a special feature of PB in this thread that works in other games but not BF3. I would recommend that you personally access captured screen shots through the FTP link on the "File manager" page or through the webhosting system by syncing the screenshots to your website via the "Websync" page.

Re: Another question for screenshots
Can the websync frequency be changed or are you doing this for load issues?

Understood... was just to confirm If I switched over to NFO that I will be able to setup my screenshots to be viewed as he showed in this link: http://74.201.57.240:90/msgpbssv.html

Re: Another question for screenshots
You can with web hosting here and websync.
You just have to upload the msgpbssv.html file via ftp.
I did ours already.
This would be what you get: http://bf3ss.site.nfoservers.com/svss/msgpbssv.html

Re: Another question for screenshots
i wish that the websync system was more configurable... I don't think uploading the ss's 1 time a day is acceptable. I am constantly clicking sync. I am about half way tempted to create a automated task on a spare computer to click sync every 30 seconds.
Surly if the websync system uploaded the ss's as it took them there would be little to no lag. There should be an option to update more often.
