Pain, did the slot count go down at any point during that process? I wonder if the game just has issues when the slot count goes down and then back up, or vice versa.

It did.

It started at 4, increased as people joined.
Went up to 12 at one point, dropped to 8, and went up to the teens and eventually stopped at 20. But only allowing half of that max to play.

For myself, I am no longer going to use it as it doesn't attract any players on anyway.
But for others using it, something blocks players from joining.

Major Pain, I was seeing the same thing the other night while trying to get our server up above the 32 player threshold.

We were on normal Conquer (32 player limit?) and I had increased the number of players to 40 using vars.maxPlayers 40. I saw that anyone trying to join after 32 slots were filled would sit in the Neutral player queue in proconn but never connect.

I set our next map to ConquerLarge0 and just before the end of the map, I set the maxplayers to 40.

When the next map loaded we were able to get more players in and, eventually, fill the server to 64 slots.

Was it the change to a larger map the catalyst to allow the extra players in? Or was it just the map change?

I think all the issues were having is EA trying to stop the use of such Tools. It worked flawless at first before EA made a post about it. Now all sorts of bugs are comming up. Blackscreen Never happend before the last patch. Now my queerey wont show my server anything higher then 32... even though thers 64 players in it. its like there trying to break johns cool script thingy.

DICE has told us that there's a known bug in the game that causes a server to drop off of Battlelog and not work properly after the player count drops below the minimum. This should be fixed in R9. It might be related to this.

Should we disable the auto slot feature until this is fixed?

I am not sure your experiencing a game issue as I am having a similar problem in crysis wars.

the server is 28 players but when it gets over 24 players it begins to dump people randomly like it is running out of bandwidth or something. Yet the server shows it is only using about 60% of resources.
Anyone have any ideas?

Zathrus, that would be a separate issue. The two games are quite different.

woowoo, it's your call. The issue seems to relate to how Battlelog handles player limit changes that occur between rounds / map changes.

i am getting supper annoyed by my server getting stuck at 16 players.... as you can see my server is rank 200 .. it use to have 64 player regularly... now it wont allow more then 16 at ant time. Will a complete reinstall fix it? This is supper annoying... i whould like to keep my GUID... the 16 players in ym server joined form there favorites...

what the hell also tell EA you have customers paying for 64 freaking SLOTS and are only filling 16 of them... get some money back form those bastards selling these Vapor slots.

globel, if you're using the auto-player-adjuster, turn it off, then set your slots to 64 and change the map. If you're not using it, then the standard advice on how to make servers popular is the best we can suggest: viewtopic.php?f=70&t=5931

There was probably another battlelog update, because we have been playing for a bit over 6-7 hours, and only seen 3 people join. They must of screwed something up again.
