Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Post by Exile »

From what I hear, it is set to be released in early 2012. Do you guys plan on providing hosting? If so, will it be readily available for VDS installs?

I would say I hope so. It is still very very early to tell. And from what I have heard there are no details floating around. Sorry.

Not sure on the aspects of the game. From what I read it is CSS reskinned with new weapons,maps,graphics..etc.

Most likely wont...

I do not think the benefits from it where even that great. Not sure, John or TimeX would have a better opinion on this though.

Given the changes Valve is making to the Orangebox engine, I think they are moving away from higher tickrates and FPS in general.

It really depends on how the engine handles it. Some games run at much lower FPS and ticks and you really don't notice it due to engine coding and better handling.

BF3 and MW3 will keep me busy, but since I run a large gaming community we will be focusing on CS:Go too.

The thing I don't like about CS:Go is the cross platform option.
I am sure PC users will have some type of disability if they were to add us on the same system.
This is going to be very lame.

Does this mean its controller vs keyboard and mouse?...what ive heard is sony is supporting mouse and keyboard too i think.
I just want to know what are the disadvantages of cross platform play for PC users and console players.

The controls are the main issue with cross platform gaming. I'm willing to bet that if they make this possible, there will be server side options to limit a server to one type or the other if desired. That is just a guess, though. That also assumes dedicated servers in a similar format as current Valve games (CS:S, L4D, etc) will be used.
