This is more like a suggestion than a question. I know this is not possible know, so I'd like to suggest adding new choices to VDS, having both the current 1:1 CPU-RAM, and also 1:2 CPU-RAM (which I think I'm not the only who would like more RAM for their servers)

Currently I use about 15% CPU, while memory usage is 3.2gb (I have 2gb of ram, so It's swapping a lot)

Considering nowadays RAM is very cheap, I find this a good way to improve the current service.

It is assuming we could sell the VDS like that. We try to utilize our machines to the fullest without causing performance loss and breaking the bank. If we have an extra stick of ram or core left over it defeats the purpose in a way. It's not so much as we cannot offer it, it's more that we do not want to under utilize our machines and end up having 5 machines which are half full because 5 of those customers required an extra 2GB of ram or an extra HT core or two.

I am not sure how much thought John has given to finding a new method for VDS or considering single upgrades but I am pretty sure it has crossed him mind several times.

Occasionally there is an extra place on a customers machine to upgrade 1GB maybe 2GB of ram. Send in a support request, and John will take a look.

Sometimes we have extra RAM in our machines, but currently the 1:1 ratio is about the "sweet spot" in terms of price/performance. We're always considering new configurations and this may change in the future.
