I made this recommendation weeks ago. EA announced that the newest patch allows for reserved admin slots. How do we access and use this feature?

Re: Reserved Admin Spots for Crysis 2
Crytek has just responded that it is used like this --
Through rcon/XML-RPC:
net_reserved_slot_system 1 - Enables the reserved slot system
net_add_reserved_slot name - Adds a user to the reserved slot list
net_remove_reserved_slot name - Removes a user from the list
net_list_reserved_slot - Shows the contents of the reserved slot list
The file reservedslots.cfg in the server root (same location as dedicated.cfg) contains the current list of slots. The file is loaded once on startup of the server. It can be modified by the server at any time while running.
If a reserved slot is active then a user not in the reserved list will be kicked if a reserved user attempts to join the server and it is full.

This appears clear. For the rcon commands:Edge100x wrote:Crytek has just responded that it is used like this --

What is the rcon format? Exact name of player, case sensitive, etc?
Re: Reserved Admin Spots for Crysis 2
They haven't specified, so to be safe, I'd recommend using the exact name of the player. We'll have to do further testing to see if it's case sensitive. What is the [name] format? Exact name of player, case sensitive, etc?
Crytek has also updated its XML-RPC client to work with the new version: http://www.om-studios.com/downloads/c2EAI_0_4.zip

Still no profile saving function yet.Edge100x wrote:Crytek has also updated its XML-RPC client to work with the new version: http://www.om-studios.com/downloads/c2EAI_0_4.zip

Re: Reserved Admin Spots for Crysis 2
What file do we put the command in for it to be enabled on a server reboot, or do we have to enable it every time the server restarts?

Re: Reserved Admin Spots for Crysis 2
Darn can't edit. I've tried putting net_reserved_slot_system=1 in dedicated.cfg but it's no activating it, and I've tried putting it as a option under levelrotation.xml and it's not activating it (restarting the server afterwards of course)
Re: Reserved Admin Spots for Crysis 2
That's odd, as I would expect the dedicated.cfg method to work; it's the only way to set variables on a ranked server outside of rcon and the command line. I confirmed your result on one of our public servers, so I'll let Crytek know.

Must be really hard for them to add the option to save connection info and profile.Clay52 wrote:Still no profile saving function yet.Edge100x wrote:Crytek has also updated its XML-RPC client to work with the new version: http://www.om-studios.com/downloads/c2EAI_0_4.zip
We need ProCon to support Crysis 2, that way we would have in-game admin without having to give out rcon pass.
Re: Reserved Admin Spots for Crysis 2
We have an admin system here as well, but the game doesn't support streamed logging yet (IIRC), which means that it can't be used yet.
