hello friend, i have problems with the server, it wont maintain the 1000 FPS, i have a couple of counter strike 1.6 and the FPS are at 500, this is what i use in the config: // Server Logging mp_logdetail 0 mp_logmessages 1
and in the other pc that i had earlier the fps staid 900-1000fps every server and it was a machine of 8gb ram, now in this one they wont stay and i have activated the scrdsfpsboost and i have activated Always Start on CPU 0 and the balance of cores is good and in high priority, what can i do to fix this? thanks
# Intel Xeon X3470 processor (four physical 2.93ghz cores on QPI + hyperthreading) # 16 GB registered DDR3 memory # 1000 GB, 7200 RPM SATA hard drive # 2500 GB of InterNAP bandwidth tcadmin windows 2008
I absolutely can, but like I said, I will need you to ask for this in a support request. Click the "Help!" button in your control panel to do this.
From that output, it looks like your server has very high CPU usage, and that is leading to the fluctuations, though. You may need to look at your plugin configuration or at whether someone is hitting you with a (D)DoS attack.
It's difficult for me to troubleshoot that from my end here, since you have an unmanaged dedicated server. But, an X3470 is among the fastest server processors available right now, so this definitely isn't a hardware limitation.
Are you testing the server without plugins right now? A stock 32-slot CS:S server shouldn't have any problems at all on that hardware. What sort of FPS are you seeing?
With that high of CPU usage and only 14 players, something is very wrong here. You're certain that you weren't running any plugins at all? Is there anything else hogging CPU?
What did you mean before when you said "i have activated Always Start on CPU 0"? That does not sound like a good thing, since you want the servers to be spread out. Are you sure that one core isn't being maxed in the task manager? It is generally best to let Windows manage the affinities for you.
With a managed configuration, I'd be able to investigate this for you and see what's going on, but I can't do that effectively with an unmanaged server.
I just noticed that you have "-noaff" on your command line, and you might try removing that, as it's not needed with the latest CS 1.6 beta, AFAIK (you should also make sure that you're running the latest beta, of course).
Apart from that, nothing is jumping out at me. With the type of machine, this definitely isn't a hardware problem, so it must be something with settings, though.
If you'd like, you could convert to a managed machine, and we could troubleshoot this in-depth, directly, for you.
zombie mod has been known to cut fps down quite a bit from what ive experienced as for the normal css server check your rates and settings on your end try putting all steam settings to low and see if your fps goes up. From what i know that just means the max fps allowed (could be wrong on this) but if im not then its on your end not the server.
