HLStatsX dosn't update website

I know this is a complex subject considering it involves Apache2, PHP, Perl & MySql...and probubly some other third thing, but I've done all the hard parts already.
I can access the website just fine and it works except for the fact that it never updates the website. So this is what i know....

*Source Mod is loading the plug-in fine.
*"./run_hlstatsx start" - outputs successful starting of daemon(everytime)
*"./run_hlstatsx stop" - sometimes says that it closed the daemon successfully & sometimes says it wasn't running.

So this is where im at any ideas?

I haven't run their daemon using the new method, myself. We're using a custom-rolled solution here that ties in with our CP.

What does it show when you run straight ./hlstatsx.pl on your VDS/dedi? If it's crashing, that should give you an error message somewhere along the line.
