With Windows, the default method of access is Remote Desktop (on the server side, this is called "Terminal Services"). Clicking Start->Accessories->Communications->Remote Desktop Connection should bring up the RD client connection window. If you do not see this shortcut, you may need to download and install Remote Desktop from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/down ... ENTDL.mspx
With Linux, you will need to connect via SSH. We recommend using Putty (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgta ... nload.html). For file transfers, we recommend WinSCP (http://winscp.net).
