Say I have a 50 man vent located in seattle. Would I be able to register a .net with nuclearfallout IF I had the hosting from a sponsor or something?

We are not a registrar, you need to register domains with a registrar like http://www.godaddy.com.

Also, for your server's IP to be pointed to via a domain name/subdomain name you need DNS management (godaddy has this for $10/mo, some web hosts offer this as a service as well, a good one is dreamhost), the web hosts that offer it require you have your domain name registered w/ them. 1and1.com and dreamhost.com both are great hosts that provide this service as well as a whole lot of other great services.

Example:
css.ebaclan.net
eba.nuclearfallout.net

Both go to the IP of our NFO CSS server.
