My guild has a managed VDS in Chicago and currently we have several TF2 servers installed and running. Server shows up fine in Master Server Browser and can be joined fine from server browser; however, when clicking on a friend on the Steam friend's list and selecting view game info the info shown is for a different IP address. This IP address hostname resolves to an unmanaged VDS also with NFO in Chicago. I assume this address is for the same NIC as the server our VDS is running on. The IP address of the Tf2 server does not appear to be getting reported correctly, at least for the purpose of the Steam friends system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This came up awhile back and we have yet to find a solution. Here is an older thread on the topic:

As a follow-up to the other thread, others have reported this happening on other servers, as well, including shared servers with us. Valve says that it occurs when Steam disconnects and tries to reconnect with TCP, as there is a bug in their TCP IP binding code. There is no current ETA from them on when a fix will be implemented.
