A hacker has been plaguing our server. His name constantly changes to copy another player and somehow affects it so that if you try and kick him, you will always kick the other person he's emulating. It is also a speed, aim, and crit hack.

Someone said I needed to pull up "status" in the console, but that brings up everyone's Steam names. It's hard to distinguish when I'm running a pub server and don't know everyone.

Any ideas?

Well you will need to catch his name when he first connects. If so then you can check your server log files for that first name and ban his ID and or IP.

Also you may be able to find a plugin which does not allow users to change there name so fast.

and do rcon ban sessionid

also try hlsw. its easier to manage some pain in the butt hackers with it.


one time, i had a hacker with name "`````````" without quotes. yes, by default
thats in-game console key. if u do amx_ban ````, it would just close the console. for some reason amx_banmenu failed and only way to ban him was to unbind my console key to something else and then use it. or copy paste his name..
