i put them on the ftp server, etc. but it won't load the textures for anyone that downloads the map. please help.

For maps that developers didn't compile the material/resource files into the actual bsp, you are required to create a res file to force clients to download those material files. You can read that tutorial here. You might be lucky to find an already made res file for that map if you search for it on google or maybe even another map download has it included in its compressed file.
