The Seattle Internet Exchange

Post by Edge100x »

In our continuing efforts to minimize customer latencies to our servers and ensure that every server runs as smoothly as possible, we have added to our Seattle mix a gigabit connection to the SIX, a local peering point that allows us to directly connect with other local networks. We have already added peering with Shaw Cable, Integra Online (which serves ClearWire and PLU, among others), OneEighty Networks, Transaria, BendTel, and Data Fortress, with many others in the pipe to be added, including GameRail.

What does this mean for our clients? Those connecting to us from these networks should see fewer hops to our servers, lower in-game latencies, and smoother gameplay.

Of course, if you're not connecting from one of those ISPs, don't fret -- our dual connections to top-quality InterNAP bandwidth and two other transit providers link us to AT&T, Level3, Savvis, Global Crossing, Verio, and UUnet, and this means odds are you're well-connected, too!
