I opened a ticket regarding this but was instructed to post here.
I have an email account I set up through my webhost plan. The last email I've gotten from a Valve mailing list to my email address was on Saturday. Looking at the archives I can see there have been many emails sent out to the list since then, but I am no longer receiving these in my inbox. If I go to the Valve mailing list account management I can't even get a password reminder email to go through to my email (it is sent by Valve but I never receive it).
When I login to the list membership page I see this message: "We have received some recent bounces from your address. Your current bounce score is 2.0 out of a maximum of 5.0. Please double check that your subscribed address is correct and that there are no problems with delivery to this address. Your bounce score will be automatically reset if the problems are corrected soon."
So they're sending me mail, but getting email bounce errors back on their end.
It appears all mail from the valvesoftware.com lists are being rejected at the mail server. Was there some kind of filter put in place accidentally recently? I have no mail filters enabled on my email client and I can receive mail from other non-Valve sources fine, so from my limited testing it appears to be just email valvesoftware.com getting bounced.
I noticed this myself earlier today, as well, and investigated. It turns out that Valve has a broken configuration right now that tells all email providers to reject all their list emails. I emailed them with the gory technical details and hope that they get it fixed soon.
This should affect all Valve list users using any email provider that honors SPF, includes the major ones (Gmail, Hotmail, AOL, etc.).
