I'm not a huge fan of any registrar in particular. I'd probably just go with a largish cheap one like Godaddy (though I hate their spam/control panel/order upsells/advertising).

It's ridiculous how many pages Godaddy makes you go through to buy anything. I guess it must work for them, though, or they wouldn't do it :P

Godaddy also offers tons of coupon codes that can be found all over. For the super bowl they had 1 dollar .com domains for 1 year.

Godaddy has lots of upselling and junk. But if I can register for 7 dollars a year vs 10 on multiple domains. I am ok with this. And they hand out coupons like water. So what ever :D upsell me as long as the NO! link is there I am happy.

I like 1and1 because it was simple to setup, you get more for your money, and yes it has alot less spam and upselling to have to hassle with.
