I just signed up for the two day trial, and I've run into a bit of an issue. The server itself is working just fine, but we're running a modded game server which has a few quirks. Unfortunately every now and then we have to restart the game server when it becomes unstable. This used to be very easy to do on more managed servers thanks to remote game control consoles like TCAdmin. Since this software doesn't come with our server, I was wondering if anyone could recommened a good method of remotely restarting a server process, without giving everyone full access to the server.

FireDaemon would likely do what you need, as it can allow limited remote access in its most recent version, I believe. There are also game control panels out there, though I'm not very familiar with the choices myself. What OS are you running, and what game?

Windows Server 2003 R2, and Project Reality, a total conversion modification of Battlefield 2. We've got a few of our coders looking into things, but I'll check into Firedaemon. Thanks for the tip, John.

Gamecreate is one we used to use. They provide all the server files for installation also and allow restricted access for users. Restarts game server on crashes. Very easy to use. They offer next to no support but it's simple enough.

We now use UGCC which allows restricted access, but the free version has limitations, but has everything we need. Doesn't restart servers on crashes. A little more work than Gamecreate but not much of an issue. Offer very fast support through their forum.

We ended up with the 30 trial of FireDaemon Pro, and will probably end up buying it. Thanks for the tip, though.
