i am trying to upload some files, but every time i try, my FTP keeps saying

Command: STOR 640hud1.vtf
Response: 553 Could not create file.
Error: Critical file transfer error

The context on this isn't clear. Is this an unmanaged VDS? What FTP server and client are you using? Is this file in use?

its a managed VDS, Filezilla, and it's not in use.

On a managed install, make sure that you delete the file before you try to replace it, if it's one included with the server. Also make sure to check this: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5364
