We tried the increment thing in the cp today for the first time, and it seems to increase, but people are complaining that they can't get in the server.

Once we hit 16 players, the increment increases to 30, and we have 8-9 or more people trying to connect but it doesn't allow them to fully get in. We can see via procon all kinds of people trying but can never pass 16.

I left the server to see if anyone else can get in, and as soon as I left, someone took my spot.

I turned the incrementer off, and still no one past 16 can join.

So I can't say 100% if it's this feature.

What game mode are you running?

All it does is change vars.maxPlayers. It increases it instantly when players join to 2-4 higher than the total number of players in the server. It only decreases it every 15 minutes.

We were playing conquest.
The slots were increasing, and went up to 30, but it only let 16 players play, and 8-9 were stuck in joining server and couldn't get in.

I turned it off, but they still couldn't join.

We had to wait for the map to change before the server filled up.

I played with that too today. Something similar happened. It got to 16 then everyone that joined had a black screen with a green flashing box buttom right. >4 people had this. I restarted the server. Stoped the incremental thing. Hope it don't happen again

Exactly same thing I saw.
Black screen with the blue loading symbol, but never loads.

Ah, the black screen issue. That one seems to be a problem with the game itself that DICE is still pinning down.

I think the increment will increase as needed but only stops allowing players up to 16 even tho it says 30 slots. But once the map changes, the slots above 16 then become playable.

Pain, the incrementer has no such powers. All it does is tell the game server to allow more or less players by adjusting the vars.maxPlayers, just as you might do by hand. It is possible that the game has bugs regarding vars.maxPlayers (well, we know it does when it comes to TDM and Rush).

edge ... could it be that the players are being forced into a queue and that is causing the black screen? ... like the server is being fed players over the server limit and the queue system is screwed up, thereby leaving with with the black screen?

I wouldn't think so if the queue is disabled, but it's hard to guess at all the bugs in this game. This one was reported to DICE and other RSPs have been complaining of it, though, I know that much.

yeah this is really weird ... we are having several (probably 20-30) people join our CQ server but only 1-2 of those are actually able to spawn in, the others just disappear, no server log showing that they DC'd ... they just arent there anymore

That's what I was saying that happens with us.

The server is set for 16 slots, and as we have players come in, and we hit 16 players, the slots increase to 30, but 8-9 others that try to join are stuck in limbo, like in a virtual queue. Trying to enter, but just sitting there looking at a black loading screen with the little blue loading symbol in the bottom right corner.

It's not the typical black screen. It's the loading screen that sits there forever.

yeah exactly, like they are waiting there for those slots to expand ...

what has worked for us is setting the numbers to 4 on the minimum size and then whatever your server size is on the other end (32 for us) ... we have one server pegged at 32 and the other one building players as I type

we also set the restartround and startround to 1 ...

Tried it again on conquest, and server started with 4 slots, and went up to 20 slots when we had 10 players in, but no one after 10 could join.

Apparently not working correctly.

its working fine.. EA i think it breaking how there system works to make this tool not as use full. My server will be on battle log with 50/64 but on procon or gametracker it says 50/32 everything but battlelog sees my server at 32 and battlelog shows the 64. its annoying.
