I want to run some alter iw gameserver files on my vps...

I have no idea how to accomplish this :(

Info about the files here: http://alteriw.net/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=22605

Can someone please point me in the right direction in how to do this?

Thanks

You're probably not going to be able to achieve this while running Linux as it is a very long and tedious process, but it may be possible. The best thing you could do if you want to stick with Linux is to install a vncserver and go from there. But I can't guarantee results as I've never tried it with a GUI. I tried to go about doing a headless install but was never able to get it working due to some of the Windows dependencies you'll need throwing a ton of errors when installed under Wine.

There are some more guides in the forum you linked that may help you. If you still run into a dead end I'd recommend moving to a Windows install as it's quite simple if you are able to do that.

You can do Alteriw's MW2 servers on linux, there's even a tutorial on their forums. I am running 2 on a Ubuntu 10 server...
