Do you have a Windows or Linux VDS? With Windows, you can follow this process: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=4615

If you haven't already updated your personal machine, checked it for malware, and updated all your passwords (control panel, email, personal machine, etc), you should do that right away.

With a reinstall, the IP and passwords will be retained. You will need to change the OS password after your server is finished: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=4030

Where w.x.y.z is the IP address on your VDS that isn't responding properly.

Are you asking if that is correct?

If so, the answer is that it is not correct. You did not replace the w.x.y part with the correct parts of your IP.
