I am runing several apps on the VDS yet they are no longer showing at the bottom of the screen as minimized tabs. I have seen this happen before. What am I doing wrong or how do I get those tabs to show again?

What OS are you running?

Also are these programs in which can function in the background without needing an icon?

using Windows 2003 server.

One of the apps is COD 2.

The thing is each time I log in from a different computer all the ICONS are reset to standard layout. But if I log in from the same computer they are arranged as I left them.

So the question is; when I login do I somehow login as a different user and not a Administrator. I use the Administrator when I log in from each computer.

I know the programs are running because I can see the server in the server list when I run COD 2.

Problem is I need to access the other apps to make changes. Meaning I want to click on the minimized tab and bring it up to make the change. Should I just keep the apps as smaller windows and not minimize them? I doubt this will help because as I login each time everything is set as if I never changed anything.

Are you closing your other connection before connecting again from another computer?

Win2k3 allows two administrator logins via remote desktop at a time, each with its own desktop. If you don't disconnect from the first session before logging in again, it will run the two in parallel; if you try to connect a third time, it will ask which one you would like to connect to.

If you disconnect from the first session, you should be able to reconnect to it.

You should be able to close or connect to existing sessions through the task manager's "Users" page.
