Every time I log in to my server I get the error 503. What causes this, and what are some fixes?

Supposedly the error is due to server overload.

Cant edit the topic so sorry for the double post, but the fixes supposedly suggested are to wait some time and try again... Which makes no sense, because supposedly this was fixed.

The error is caused by the authentication servers at minecraft.net being overloaded, though at the moment they appear to be completely down, so trying over and over will do nothing.

This happens frequently on weekends, as mojangs infrastructure is simply garbage and their "wing-it" business model doesnt help. Oh an did I mention they are currently across the world from their offices on their way to the GDC? So I dont expect a fix anytime soon :/

They need to move their log-in servers over here to be maintained by people who actually know wth load balancing is haha.
