hi all

i have a virtual server and i am running windows server 2008 with firedaemon

now i have 5 servers already running, 2 ut99, 3 cod4 and all run good

but when i try to start a bf2 server, nothing runs.
unless i start the bf2 server launcher manually, then we can connect to the server but cannot see it in gametracker or when we try to add it to favorites.

i have tried every command line from many forums, but nothing works

so what i m looking for is someone or someones to create a set of paramenters

so that i could try.

firedaemon forums have tutorial on how but it doesn't not work, i have tried tcadmin command lines, icg game panel command line, even batch file

maybe i am missing something but i have redid so many commandlines and read so much

thx inadvance

sincerely werewolf

These sound like separate problems.

On the first issue, I haven't tried running BF2 on Windows 2008, so this is a tough question for me. But, have you tried running it as "administrator" instead of as the default service user? I know that this helped sometimes with Win2k3. Also, are you seeing any notices pop up from Windows about viewing the console?

When you say it's not running, is it that Windows is starting and immediately stopping the service? Is there anything showing in your Windows event log?

On the second problem, I suspect that you may need to specify the IP in your BF2 configuration. Windows 2008 has recently had problems with other servers when the IP isn't manually specified like this.

tried to run it as a administrator , no go

something about no sub command

i check the event logs and it tries to start program 5 times and i get bf2 error and after 5times no longer tries to start

when u say specify ip, do u mean in server config and if that is what u r saying i have done that.

is it possible for you to send me a startup paramenter or command l;ine u use for bf2

thx again for help

In regards to setting the IP address for BF2, that would be set in bf2/settings/serversettings.con -- the relevant configuration lines are:

sv.interfaceIP
sv.serverIP
sv.voipServerRemoteIP

On the problem with running it as a service, that is something that I haven't personally done under Win2k8, and we no longer offer BF2 in general here, so it's very difficult to say what's going on. Under Win2k3, it would work with a normal FireDaemon configuration if also run as .\Administrator, with no special additional settings needed.

The FireDaemon forums might better be able to help you troubleshoot that crash, actually. I haven't used Trinity or run it on Win2k8, and I suspect that this is unique to one or both.

Is the path set up right, and such? Is it set to run as a console application (if it lets you do that)?
