Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
Today, I changed the map cycler so that it inserts all of the maps that the server might run (either because they were manually chosen, or are capable of being randomly chosen) into the server's map list, even though the map list isn't really used. This will allow Battlelog to correctly filter for servers that cycle game modes and maps, and for it to know which servers are running Back to Karkand maps in the future.
Note that if you use our map cycler and manually inspect the mapList.list output, it will likely not appear to match up with what you specified on the "Easy setup" page. This is because it shows only one copy of each map+mode combination and lists all of the maps that might be randomly chosen separately. The actual order will be correct, and (if you use a random option) appropriately random.

Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
Would it be possible to add confirmation of the admin command in BF3 chat.
In Procon in-game admin, when I ban or kick a player, the action is repeated in the chat window, confirming to me that command is successful and announcing to the server that admin took action. Something like: Admin - !ban Joe for hacking.
It would be helpful to have that in NFO admin.

Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
The daemon responds to the client who initiated the command privately, as it does in BC2. Unfortunately, DICE has not yet made that function work properly in BF3, so we're still waiting for them to implement it. We do not want the commands to be shown publicly, as a general rule, because we know that the admin doesn't always want this.
Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
Procon admin plugin uses ! for public, i.e visible to all and @ for private, i.e visible just to admin and player admin command.
Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
We could consider implementing something like that, if DICE doesn't fix this.

Just resurrecting this as something to consider when there's time...I'd love to have it auto boot anyone over 200...Edge100x wrote:Possibly. I haven't had time to implement additional features recently.
Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
nutz, since BF3 does not report client pings as BC2 did, this would unfortunately be difficult to implement now.
Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
ahhh so they F'd it up by showing everyone else's ping but not your own?

Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
If your using Procon, their is a high ping kick plugin.
I think instead of using game server to client pings, it uses Procon host to client pings somehow. Since Procon hosting is usually in the same area or at least in the same country.
Not everyone provides a ping since the plugin gets stopped at times by firewalls.
We play with it set at either 200 or 250. Initially it is set for 250, but if we notice spurts of lag, we drop it to 200.

uhhh so the pings that they added in on the scoreboard aren't pings?TimeX wrote:It doesn't report player pings at all.
Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
nutz, the game does not report pings to admin tools. If you're not playing in the game, there's no way to see them. It would need to be approximated remotely.
Re: BC2 admin daemon feedback
just a thought...any way to have the admin tool auto join people to squads?

Only thing I am aware of so far is a Procon plugin for Squad Enforcer.nutz wrote:just a thought...any way to have the admin tool auto join people to squads?

Automatic Server Messages change request
A request for a change on the Automatic Server Messages in the Easy Setup panel for BF3.
Today you have the option to run messages after a set time period (e.g. every 5 minutes) or after a certain amount of time after someone joins the server (e.g. 60 secs after join). What I really need is for the messages to rotate on a set schedule. For example a message every 5 minutes - message 1 @ 5 mins, message 2 - 5 minutes later, etc.
I have found that when I use the procon message spammer I see an uptick in server crashes. I can use the PB commands but am worried about using this as PB hasn't been rock solid on BF3. For reasons I can't explain, I have found that the messages from the NFO tool produces the most stable method of sending messages. I just need a cleaner way to do so.
Is this do-able? Thanks.
