gg John... I brought up a valid concern and you lock the topic? First off, i did talk to someone in your office. At first he wasnt going to do anything, then when I explained the issue, he gave me thier contact email. I posted here because when i tried to contact them, I found out they are a bunch of immature little kids who told me to fu** off. I would think for your present customers protection, you could at least add some sort of restriction to your account name search engine. A simple task for someone with your programming skills and resources.
You and I have butted heads on other issues in the past, which you obviously remember well, judging by your response to my issues. For server setup and connection issues you guys cannot be beat, trust me on this, i know. I have tried every other game host and a few dedicated web server hosts in this area. Why have I tried them? because of your "piss off" attitude whenever I have any issue with anything youve done.
If you choose to terminate our business relationship over this post, then so be it. I have been singularly financially responsible for our servers for the last 6 years. The last 3 of which have been here, which is expensive. Maybe im finally just getting tired of it, which might explain why im a little over sensitive about some punks stealing our clan name and telling me to fu** off.

You brought up a concern in forums that in my opinion should have been emailed. It's fundamentally a private issue, not a public one. I responded to it, let you respond, responded again and closed the thread. As I said, if you have further concerns about this issue, email is the appropriate place to go.

A mechanism that would prevent others from using your clan name on your server? Yes, you could do that.

A search engine that would prevent them from running their own server with your clan name, here and everywhere else? No, I couldn't.

I don't specifically remember, no. Nick had to remind me after I posted. I simply responded to what you said, and reacted as professionally as I could to your slightly combative tone.

We react as professionally as we can. Your tone was accusatory/angry, and naturally we won't respond as well to that as we would to a more detached tone.

I don't plan to terminate anyone. You're still a good customer and I respect your opinion.

I would just like to say that I am REALLY impressed with the professionalism and tact that the administrators of this forum use in the dealing with customers.

Even when a customer is angry and making accusations you have displayed only the most exemplary conduct and helpful responses possible. I know how hard that can be sometimes and really respect NuclearFallout for having administrators with such integrity. I am really glad I found this place :)

Cheers!

Lol, I'm shocked they haven't terminated me yet. I have really gotten on their nerves and I have been a server owner from NFo for over 2 years now.

Personally I think part of the join contract should be a "No asshole policy" that you can receive warnings and eventually a cancelled server if you intentionally copy the name of another server (Like not just tag but trying to copy the hostname character for character) in an attempt to mimmick them and mock them. Not only is it rude, but it can be malicious to the person they're harassing by taking away players from the first person's server because everyone thinks the 2nd one is the real one. Not to mention hurt the reputation of the 1st server with the behavior of players and admins in the 2nd one thus hurting the popularity of the 1st server even more.

We can't edit...in addition, yes you can run your server the way you want and its other people's choice to join your server and be subjected to your abuse, but you are crossing that boundary when you are affecting other people's server who have nothing to do with you and would like to be able to run their server they pay for the way they want without harrassment. Just the same as you can run your website the way you want but may not have illegal material or make people download viruses, it affects other people. It's bad policy and could possibly create bad blood and hurt relations with other server companies if you have people harassing other people's customers in this way.
