Today i got the idea to Add hlstatsX:CE to my server but found out that i couldnt as it is against the TOS and that i have to pay NFO 2.98 cents to use...btw HLstatsx:CE is a FREE PRODUCT...it ALSO isnt listed as the community edition. This is a complete joke that i should have to PAY for a FREE product.

HLstatsX:CE is a free product but the machines that host them cost money, which is why there is a fee to have them hosted here. It is not some miscellaneous charge just to make money.

Game servers also have free dedicated server software, and we can't offer them for free, either. This is because the hardware, bandwidth, and support cost real money. We pay for these things, and charge customers those costs plus a little more (ideally, anyway) -- that's our whole business model.

Psychostats costs us much less to run because it is a simpler system and much less resource-intensive. We have offered free once per day PS3 stats for many years now.

You are welcome to run HLStatsX (or anything else) on an unmanaged VDS, if you wish, or from somewhere else. We can't allow it with our shared webhosting because it is so intensive.

There is no version of HLStatsX other than HLStatsX:CE. In your confusion about the name, you may be thinking of GameMe, a service that was previously called HLStatsX; they changed their name years ago.

Why don't you host it yourself if you don't want to pay the $2.98.
You have a website? Use that hosting to host it yourself.

You don't have to pay for htlstatsX:CE at all. It's free. You can run it all day long on YOUR server, no problem. You only have to pay to run it on THEIR server.

Look, I know it'd be nice to do whatever you want for pennies on the dollar, but it's impossible for people to run a business like that. They pay for employees, power, bandwidth, server costs, replacement hardware, phone service, postage, business insurance ... it all adds up.

You can't have great service and zero cost. You can have one or the other.

Unfortunately most providers don't allow daemon services on their shared hosting accounts.If your dead set on a free solution,checkout the HLstatsX: CE site for some recommendations.
