Okay So i've been using another compnay for awhile but, since recently your pricing has come down and is very agressive, I kinda wanted to switch Out to you.

I just purchased a 10slot vent for testing and a 100slot mumble for testing.

I def like the pricing however I really do hate the Control panel it leaves alot to be desired.

I currently Had a BF:BC 2 server which i upgraded to a BF3 Server so i was alreayd aware of the control panel in that aspect but i wa shoping for so much more from the voice side of the control Panel.

Is there any planes in the future to beef it up because that is a huge deciding factor for me. I may just stay with my current voice provider even though i'm getting gouged in the eye just because the contral panel is so much better.

Voice servers don't typically need much in the way of a web-based control panel since nearly all tasks are done most readily through the client. The control panel only needs to cover what remains, and we do this well. What function did you wish to have in the control panel for either of these?

I don't Always have access to my client and at times it's easier to look up certain info not using the client. May i post some pictures of my current control panel??? cause it' a bit much to explain it would be easier to show you

No screen shot needed, no. I'd just need to know what specific features you find the most important so that I can put investigating working them into the control panel onto my "to do" list.

Potentially duplicating features already available through other methods and rarely requested by other customers is something that will have a lower priority than most other tasks, so it's not something that I would be able to look into immediately.

Okay well for starters,

Ease of use, Instead of having to Click File Manager > drop down menu > CHoose Item > then click edit just to view something. gets old real fast.

A connection Log and a Server Log. Ability to Download whole log and or clear the logs

So i can see when poeple are connecting and disconnecting and when poeple are issuing commands and other such things.

as far as i can tell you only have a conection log.


Ability to edit MOTD and GMOTD

Remote Ability to Send Text to speach across the Server.


Ability to Kick/Ban via Control Panel.
(not sure if you go by the clint side on this one)Remote Ban Manager, some Bans don't show up properly on the client itself not to mention if you have a Server ban settings in place they tend to not show up at All, i would need to log into my control panel and See the 2 types of Bans ones Done by Administrators and ones automaticlay given by the server itself because someone triggered a ban to occur. i.e. bad admin password, wrong channel password, spamming server to many duplicate ips( trying to crash server with DOS attack with mass account logger

Ability to give Trustworthy Admins sub-access to the control panel.

A more in depth "easy Setup" page. i know i can go into the .ini but it still looks like alot is missing from what the new veriosn of ventrilo can do and what your allowed to do.

NoLogLimit and NoLogin Trigger I don't see these in the .ini, Loginbantime out, i see a logintimeout

A more user full featured/Friendly User Editor/Channel Editor.

like right now just trying to figure out all the options in a comparison haha holy hell. i could keep going on, just for comparison sack i would really suggest checking out alot of the other control panels cause NFO's is seriously lacking in my eyes.

I take it that these are in reference to Ventrilo and not Murmur.

It sounds like your answer really is to some extent "add everything the client does", then, which isn't really going to be feasible (at least for awhile). If you truly need everything to be in the control panel, I agree that you will need to go with another host for the licensed voice server. (It just doesn't make business sense for me to spend the time to duplicate the client in the CP right now, since so few customers want or would use such features -- that time could be much better spent on other improvements that are in demand.)

A few specific clarifications on what you said:

* The "log" file here is the full log, generated by Ventrilo.
* You can already edit the motd and gmotd files through the "File manager" page.
* You can already give sub-admins access to control panel pages, through the "Panel access" page.
* The developer of Ventrilo has said that files should not be edited when the server is in use. It sounds like you're editing a lot of files, so make sure to turn off the server each time before you do this. Partially, this is why I haven't investigating adding further items to the control panel.
* Using the edit button for files on the "File manager" page isn't really bad at all. I appreciate the input, but we're talking less than one second to pull down the file and click "Edit".

Ahh yes My bad, I should have calrified on that. This would be Ventrilo.

For the most part and them some since the client fails to do some things aswell. Unless you dig thru the RCON to look for what you need(which is a holy mess at times and not always what you want).

MOTD & GMOTD:
GMOTD does not Exist in NFO's control panel, I just now had to create it, now wheather or not it will function as the GMOTD is another story.
The MOTD and the GMOTD are 2 Seperate files.

Log/Ban:
Like I said before, when the server tends to ban someone and not and Admin alot of the time it doens't show up in the logs nor Does it even show up inside the Ventrilo Client Ban List. However considering your control panle is very limited in doing such automated bans It really wouldn't be such a problem.

Server Settings:
Files being Edited require me to reboot the Server anyhow so it's not a big deal, apart from client side per permissions.

Actually i beg to differ, Everytime i wnat an updated Log I have to, File Manger > Drop Down > Scroll > Select> Edit> Scroll Log. thats more then 2 seconds.

Whereas if it was just a Link Like File manger all i woudl have to do is 1 click scroll and done.

Anyways I can understand Overhead and Cost, I figured that might be a Factor anyways, And Yes Having those features is Very important to me. I belive thats why I went the way i did over a year ago.

I find myself to be a Lazy bastard and want things easy, I deal with computers/software everyday so by the end of the day i want simplicity that plus i've been spolied by some things so it's like why can't everyone do that.

I hope you at least listen to some of my nagging criticism cause i really would preffer your pricing hahaha. maybe one day though

motd and gmotd are separate files, you are correct. Once you create them in the client, you can edit them through the control panel.

I do not know of a way to tell Ventrilo to increase logging. What you see in "log" is everything it is putting out. We do not filter that file.

I hope that I will have time to investigate special features like these in the future. Honestly, I don't remember anyone asking for them before, and we've been running Ventrilo servers longer than most other hosts (since 2003)!

I recently came from another provider for my game servers. The control panel for that is far superior to any I've used before - but it did take a bit of getting used to.
