Re: Space Engineers - Is this a no-go for NFO?

We considered this in the past, and I believe we even contacted the developers regarding it, a number of years ago. I think they had a demand for a flat fee per game server that made it not worth pursuing further. It can still be run on an unmanaged VDS, however, with the publicly available dedicat...

Space Engineers - Is this a no-go for NFO?

Was looking at picking up a managed game server for Space Engineers, from NFO. Did not see one and was kind of saddened. Browsed through some of the forums and seen in the past, it was an issue to commercially host these. That seems to not be the case now. Has NFO considered offering managed servers...

Internal Exception: io.netty.handler

So here is the error... Connection Lost Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutException The other day, I found you can force this error if the CPU spikes, resulting in everyone on the server receiving this error and being disconnected. We had new chunks being generated in Minecraft...

After 2+ years...

After two years with NFO (renting a VPS), I am still very pleased. Have had nothing but good experiences with NFO. The equipment has never failed, the speeds are very fast, and support is top-notch! They have also always been flexible with my needs. All support matters have been handled only minutes...

Re: Dead RDP Session

It may work to use the task manager, which has an option on the context menu of the "Users" page to connect to other sessions. That was my first move. However, the task manager did not have that session showing. When I ran 'quser', the session was shown... but task manager was being dumb....

Dead RDP Session

Today, while I was out enjoying the day, it seems our server had a hiccup and decided to do a lil' crash. After a brief disruption of services from the VPS, everything resumed and ran normally, however, I could no longer log into the RDP Session. It was still running, but, I couldn't get back in. I ...

Re: Guidance for setting up a web server on my VDS

This can be very complicated to do correctly. I would not recommend hosting your own mail server, in favor of 3rd party hosting such as Google. If you do choose to run your own, I am not familiar with Windows offerings, so I'd have to let the community chime in on that. You may wish to look into hM...

Re: Apache Site Shows With No VHost

Thanks for posting a follow-up! No problem. May someone else save some time by reading this, if they have the similar setup. Found out that with no default page, when it checks the VHosts, it will use the first defined one available, if none are found for a matching domain/port. I did not know that...

Apache Site Shows With No VHost

Ok, so, still a n00b with setting up VHosts and all, but I'm curious how this is working... So there is a new domain pointing to the server IP, but no VHosts are setup for this particular domain. When people enter in the URL, they see a website for another domain. So, here's the thing... with no VHo...

Re: Problem With Website On VDS

Meh... whatever... it's working. Perhaps I am just not understanding how Apache works exactly. I thought that the default settings is how it would work, when no <Directory> entries were added, since the document root is already specified in the vhost.config... but maybe that's just how I figure it w...

Re: Problem With Website On VDS

Y'know, my only other problem, is trying to figure out why changing the default settings on apache is not working... <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks -Indexes AllowOverride All Order deny, allow Deny from all </Directory> My default settings. Yet, it will not read .htacess files. When I add a <Di...

Re: Problem With Website On VDS

Ahh, it was in the PHP settings. So I went over to #PHP on the Rizon network, and asked over there. Nate, in the channel, pointed out that it was either "no PHP installed or short_tags"... Turns out, the bit of PHP I'm using, was done in "lazy-mode" ;p So with a tweak of PHP.ini,...
