Quick Question about r1Soft
Hello, Long time happy customer here :-) I recently decided to go the r1soft route as opposed to rsync backups and I had a question about it. In the event of a catastrophic failure, ie need to reinstall, is it possible to do a bare metal restore? To do a bare metal restore I would need to boot off a...

Re: [Backup software] Need recommendations

Re: Problem on Routing/IP_Forwarding
If it were the same problem as before, then the workaround that I gave above would compensate for it. I double-checked, though, and we definitely don't have any machines with that old problem. Is anything set on the Firewall tab for the VDS? Nothing set for firewall in the control panel. double che...

Re: Problem on Routing/IP_Forwarding
paulg1981, yes, the rule on our end that caused problems with OpenVPN was globally changed those years ago. Hmmm I am having the same issue as I did before in the new location. My firewall rules are as follow: root@dedi:~# cat /etc/iptables_rules *nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.8.0.0/24 -o eth0 -j SNAT -...

Re: Problem on Routing/IP_Forwarding
I have recently gotten a VDS in Denver and I am having the some issues with OpenVPN on the new box. Were the rules adjusted for that location?

Re: Ever though of becoming a Cloudflare Partner?
I have not seen requests for this, so it's a new idea. In general, customers who have used CloudFlare have not seen performance improvements, and their DDoS resistance drops with CloudFlare in the middle. This may partially be because most of the sites we see using it are dynamic. Any sort of extra...

Ever though of becoming a Cloudflare Partner?
Have you guys (NFO) ever considered becoming an optimized partner with cloudflare for your hosting? Obviously the bulk of your business is game servers and you don't want an extra hop but some of us (read me) don't host game servers and enjoy the speed and reliability of your services. If you were t...

Re: Problem on Routing/IP_Forwarding
Does a tcpdump process monitoring eth0 tell you that any traffic is going out? If so, does it have the correct source IP (your external IP instead of an internal one)? I did a tcpdump on eth0 while connecting and attempting to ping google(74.125.227.146 in this case), I can see the traffic using my...
